Neuroma

Katrina Corby

Updated: Nov 23, 2024

This is an enlarged benign (not dangerous)growth of a nerve.

Most commonly between the third and fourth toes which is called a Mortons Neuroma

The issue is caused by the tissue of the nerve being rubbed or squashed.

Pressure from ill-fitting shoes or abnormal bone structure can create the condition.

Treatment includes orthoses (shoe inserts) as a first treatment which can be very successful. Should this not address the condition, steriod injections or surgical intervention may be required.
